The design features a retention balloon for secure placement in the bladder and a bladder protection balloon that subsumes the catheter tip to help minimize trauma. The drainage eyes are positioned between the two balloons to help prevent aspiration of the bladder wall. Each catheter is sterile and individually packaged for single use.
